softening into safety — NEW MOON IN TAURUS

Rosa x damascena (Damask rose)

I MISSED MY PERIOD…

It feels beautifully aligned to be writing about the Taurus New Moon during a month when my body chose not to bleed.

A missed period can feel alarming at first, especially when you are deeply connected to your body and accustomed to a certain rhythm. Instead of spiraling into panic, I found myself listening more carefully, reflecting on the weeks prior. While a missed period can happen for several reasons, including pregnancy, it can also occur when ovulation is delayed or doesn’t happen at all.

Ovulation is highly sensitive to the body’s perceived level of safety, energy availability, stress load, and environmental change. Significant shifts in routine, physical demand, emotional processing, nourishment, or nervous system stress can temporarily disrupt the hormonal signaling required for ovulation. So I got curious, what had shifted around me or within me? What no longer felt stable or familiar to my nervous system?

In many ways, those questions sit at the heart of Taurus energy. Taurus is deeply tied to grounding, embodiment, stability, sensuality, and safety. If I had to assign a moon sign to my work, it would absolutely be Taurus.

My purpose is rooted in guiding women back home to themselves - helping them learn the language of their bodies, reconnect with their intuition, trust their inner knowing, and cultivate genuine safety within their own nervous systems. So much of stress comes from a perceived lack of safety and stability. We search for certainty outside of ourselves while our bodies quietly ask us to not abandon them, but to cultivate self-awareness and self-trust. And this Taurus New Moon feels like an invitation to root deeper into self-trust instead of external predictability.

Taurus asks:
What actually makes me feel safe?
What foundations am I building my life upon?
What happens when I stop abandoning my body in order to keep up with the world around me?

Taurus teaches us to slow down enough to feel. To build lives with strong roots. To nourish ourselves consistently. To reconnect with nature, rhythm, simplicity, and the present moment. And to remember that the body is an ecosystem to care for.

Missing a period this month, my body reminded me of that in a very tangible way. Not because my body is failing me or broken, but because my entire external world has shifted. This season of my life has brought enormous change. More physical demand through farming several days a week, more emotional stimulation from being away from familiar faces, more mental load from classes and constant community interaction, new foods, new routines, new environments, new energies.

Even beautiful change can be stressful to the nervous system. And as a highly sensitive woman healing from years of processed foods, hormonal birth control, burnout, overworking, survival mode, and disconnection from my body, it is no surprise that such a dramatic life shift impacted my cycle. Especially because the “regularity” I have been experiencing was built inside a completely different season of life. One with far more predictability and consistency.

Once again, I’m reminded that we are cyclical beings. Nature is not linear. Healing is not linear. The Taurus New Moon reminds us to reconnect with the Earth and trust the intelligence of natural cycles. It asks us to reevaluate what we truly need in this season rather than clinging to old identities, old rhythms, or old definitions of stability.

And perhaps most importantly, this New Moon asks:
What becomes possible when I stop organizing my life around fear, conditioning, and survival and begin building from truth, from embodiment, from soul, from life force?

Maybe coming home to ourselves is the foundation we’ve been searching for all along.

If you’re seeking a deeper understanding of your natural rhythms, a more connected relationship with your body, mind, and spirit, and a greater sense of self-trust, self-acceptance, and self-love - I would be honored to work with you.

I support women in rebuilding their foundations after years of disconnection and survival mode. Together, we identify patterns, explore your unique constitution and stress responses, and create sustainable practices using food, herbs, and lifestyle support to cultivate resilience, safety, and embodiment.
